“—China's National Stadium, commonly known as the Bird's Nest, has reported revenues of 370 million yuan (54.2 million U.S. dollars) since the 2008 Beijing Olympics, managers said Thursday.
The income was generated by visitor tours and a series of commercial events, said a spokesman with the administration commission of the Beijing Olympic Park, without giving a figure for profits.
The annual operating costs of the stadium totaled 150 million yuan, according to a financial statement issued by the operator, the National Stadium Co., Ltd.. The Beijing Municipal Government has a 58-percent stake in the company, and the CITIC Group owns the rest.
"Tour ticket sales barely cover the daily running costs of the stadium, so we are making it more attractive for commercial events," the spokesman said.

“ Na czym opiera swe szanse Poznań? Po pierwsze - na starannie przygotowanym wniosku i dokumentacji, do której MKOl nie zgłosił uwag i zakwalifikował ją do finału. Po drugie - na własnych kontaktach w MKOl, opartych zwłaszcza na Irenie Szewińskiej. Ostatnio przekonywała ona np. innego członka MKOl Siergieja Bubkę, który nie traktował Poznania serio i optował za Nankinem. ”—
“— Nanjing gets best rating of 3 bids for Youth Games - USATODAY.comLAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The Chinese city of Nanjing presents the least risk of the three candidates bidding for the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games, the IOC said Friday. The International Olympic Committee released a report evaluating the bids from Nanjing, Guadalajara, Mexico, and Poznan, Poland.
The IOC said Guadalajara and Poznan present "a number of risks" while Nanjing offers "minimal risk."
The IOC said Nanjing proposes a "reasonably compact concept backed up by generally solid guarantees." The city's $117 million budget "appears to be consistent with the levels of service described in the candidature file and most key costs have been taken into consideration," it said.
The report said Guadalajara failed to provide full guarantees to cover any shortfall on its $83 million budget, which "represents an important financial risk."
The IOC said Poznan's $65 million budget "appears low in a number of key areas and may not be sufficient to cover the proposed levels of service described in the candidature file."
